Superman Returns in Total Film UK

Faster than a speeding bullet, Future's Total Film hits newsstands tomorrow (Wednesday), as the first UK movie magazine to offer a collectors cover for summer blockbuster, Superman Returns.

The magazine transforms its front cover into a newspaper, reporting the return of Superman to Metropolis - one of the major storylines in the movie, which hits cinemas on Friday 14th July[UK]. At the centre of Total Film's cover is a full-colour lenticular which sees mild mannered Clark Kent, originally played by Christopher Reeve, transform into the Man of Steel, Superman - as played in the new film by Brandon Routh.

As well as the highly collectable cover, Total Film delivers the world exclusive scoop on relative unknown, Brandon Routh, who beat hotly tipped Hollywood stars to the role. Donning its finest superhero costume, the magazine also offers ten-pages of Spandex-clad brilliance, tracing Superman from his comic book roots, right through to the TV spin-off Smallville and the brand-new movie.

Final Superman Returns Poster

The final poster art for Superman Returns has shown up online, and it’s actually one of the nicer images we’ve seen for the film so far. The shot, as seen here, shows the Man of Steel floating above the Earth. Presumably returning to Earth, as it were.

IGN landed the exclusive on this poster, so to see a higher rez version of it, click over to that site now.

In case you’ve been living in a fortress of solitude for the past year, Superman Returns picks up a few years after the original Superman: The Movie, with the Man of Steel returning to Earth after a long absence, only to find that things have changed significantly in the interim. Oh, and he does a lot of cool stuff with his superpowers throughout the film.

The movie opens on June 30. It will also debut in IMAX 3D that same day.

Aussie Ad Has New Images - UPDATED!

UPDATED AGAIN! - You can now download the 10 second clip and watch it in it's entirety here!

Also, thanks to Aaron, the full commercial can now be viewed on YouTube.

SupermanVillain posted at The Planet today that he saw a Warner Bros. Movie World/Coca Cola commercial on Fox 8 in Australia. More importantly, he said the ad contained new footage from the film. The footage, for those who've read their spoilers, is apparently from a particular high-speed chase Superman engages in. If you don't mind seeing potentially spoilery images, check them out here.

UPDATE: Iris over at BrandonRouth.com has posted up several more images from the commercial, and they're pretty impressive. Click the link to view the gallery.

Superman Trailer Confirmed + TONS More!

SuperheroHype has confirmed today that the theatrical trailer for Superman Returns will be attached to Mission Impossible 3 and Poseidon.
Superhero Hype! has confirmed that the new Superman Returns trailer will be enclosed in the can with Paramount's "Mission: Impossible III," opening next Friday, May 5th and will also be attached to all prints of WB's "Poseidon" the following week, on Friday, May 12th.
MI:3 comes out next weekend, so make sure you don't miss out on the most anticipated 2 minutes and 28 seconds of the year!

That is followed up by this announcement, which suggests that television stations will be getting their hands on the Superman Returns trailer soon as well. It's a great time to be a Superman fan.

In addition, the current issue of Scr(i)pt Magazine has a 6 page spread about Superman Returns, written by Mike Dougherty and Dan Harris. Also, you can catch a Superman Returns article about Lois Lane over at IGN. As if that wasn't enough Superman coverage for one day, the current issue of Starlog Magazine has a 6-page interview with Bryan Singer and a 5 page interview with Brandon Routh!

Whew! But don't get too comfortable, we're not through yet! Kal-El.org has posted images of the Times Square version of the Superman Returns billboard that we originally posted yesterday, and he's also added photos of a bunch of new Superman merchandise. You can view all of that here.
